Mega Lawyer Joke

A man and woman were talking at a cocktail party. The man was discussing his latest gripe with lawyers, namely, that they were money-grubbing and would always find a way to rip people off.

"I don't know about that," said the woman. "Last year my lawyer gave me a thousand bucks."

"A thousand dollars!" exclaimed the man, stunned. "What happened?"

"Well, I hired a lawyer at an hourly rate to pursue a personal injury case. We won $127,000, but by the time all was said and done, her fees totalled $128,000. After she thought about it, she said I could just keep the thousand dollars I owed her. So you see, she gave me a thousand bucks."
